FULL METAL CRUISE II – MORE THAN JUST A CRUISE
Wacken, 21. April 2015
The Full
Metal Cruise II rocked the Balearic Islands with 2,000 Metal Heads from 11th until 16th April
2015. The biggest European Heavy Metal Festival on sea offered everything a
metalhead wished for: more than 20 bands, a supporting program with metal
karaoke, comedy, lectures, cinema, musician workshops and a tattoo artist.
Special highlights of the journey were the concerts on shore in Ibiza and Palma
de Mallorca and the tombola on board of the “Mein Schiff 1”.
Heavy
Metal in a breathtaking scenery
At the
first concert on shore on April 14th 2015 on Ibiza the fans experienced
something unique. Already from onboard of the “Mein Schiff 1” in the port of
Ibiza Town the location of the concert high above the city could be recognized.
In the former military centre of Ibiza, the old castle of Dalt Vila, the stage
for the Full Metal Cruise concert had been built up. Between the old walls and
with an exceptional view of the city and the “Mein Schiff 1” the evening became
something very special. The range of music for the metalheads was very
diversified as well. The local matadors Los Vagabundos, Indulgentes and singer
Leo Jimenez have proven Spanish metal fire. Metal legend U.D.O. ensured a
perfect final with their distinctive metal power.
Barón Rojo rocked Palma de
Mallorca
At the concert
on shore on the 15th of April 2015 in Palma de Mallorca the Spanish metal band
Barón Rojo performed on stage of the the legendary club “Es Gremi”. The four
Spaniards belong to the most popular metal bands in Spain since 35 years. In
the club “Es Gremi” they showed the Full Metal

Cruise guests what handmade,
Spanish metal looks and sounds like. The “red barons“ have been supported by
plenty of female metal power. The bands Psideralica and Fyre! fired up the
crowd with their female singers. This evening surely was one Mallorca will not
forget that easily.
Tombola
for the good cause
Besides
workshops, lectures and metal wellness also the popular FMC-tombola has been
organized on board of the Full Metal Cruise. The prices ranged from VIP tickets
for the Wacken Open Air and Wacken guitars to the exclusive nautical chart of
the Full Metal Cruise II from TUI Cruises that has been signed by several
artists. Through the sales of the tombola tickets more than € 4,000 has been
raised. A part of the proceeds will go to the foundation Fundación Handisport
Mallorca who works in favor of the inclusion of people with disabilities in
society through sports and leisure. Additionally the projects Familienhafen e.
V., an outpatient childrens' hospice in Hamburg, Germany and the Wacken
Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting (young) bands and artists from
the metal scene, are being supported with the revenues. More information of the
organizations can be found under the following links:
